Convert a color photo to black and white
How To Tip:
Convert a full-color photo to black and white. - Open the photo you want to convert to black and white.
- Choose Image > Mode > Grayscale.
- If asked to discard color info, click OK. Photoshop converts the colors in the image to black, white, and shades of gray.
If you are familiar with adjusting hue, saturation, and lightness, you may prefer to convert the image yourself using the Image > Adjustment > Hue/Saturation command. While this command can produce a black-and-white image, the color information is not lost.
