Including image metadata (ImageReady)
ImageReady allows the quick and easy inclusion of metadata, or data describing an image, when the image is saved for Web use in the GIF, JPEG, or PNG formats. This data can be copyright information or information about the author, for example.
To include metadata with a saved image: - In the Optimize palette, open the Options section by clicking the swing-down arrow.
- Select the Add Metadata check box.
To specify metadata options: - Do one of the following:
- Choose File > Output Settings > Metadata.
- In the Optimize palette, open the Options section by clicking the swing-down arrow. Click the Settings button.
- Specify the metadata that should be included by clicking the box next to any of the options listed.
- Add Custom ImageReady Metadata includes simple copyright and description information from the File Info dialog. (See Adding file information (Photoshop).)
- Add EXIF Metadata includes information stored with digital photographs, including camera type, date and time of photo, and file size.
Note: To view the complete EXIF information for a file, view the file in the File Browser (Photoshop). - Add XMP Metadata adds an Adobe-specific set of information that both provides information about the file and facilitates the use of files between Adobe applications. XMP metadata can be included with a file in one of three ways:
Write minimal set of XMP Includes only a small subset of the complete XMP metadata set, including file modification and output times, file dimensions, and format. Include Reference to Source File Adds to the XMP a block of information that points to the original document--in other words, a path to that file. Write XMP to separate files XMP data for the file is written to a separate file, instead of being embedded in the image file.
