Viewing layers and layer sets
Using the Layers palette, you can arrange your layers and layer sets in a way that makes the most sense to you. You can open sets when you want to work on the layers within them, and close sets to keep your palette manageable.
To view individual layers and layer sets: Select Window > Layers palette to open the Layers palette. Each of your layers and layer sets will appear, unless they are in sets that are closed.
To view layers within a layer set: - Click the layer set in the Layers palette.
- To open the set, do one of the following:
- Click the triangle to the left of the folder icon.
- Control-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) the triangle to the left of the folder icon and choose Open This Layer Set.
To view nested layer sets: - Open the parent layer set.
- Do one of the following:
- Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) the triangle to the left of the folder icon to open or close a set and its layers.
- Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) the triangle to open or close a set and the sets nested within it.
- Ctrl + Alt-click (Windows) or Command + Option-click (Mac OS) to open or close all layers within the set, all sets nested within the set, and the set itself.
